MSU issues campus alert for reported sex assault

EAST LANSING, Mich. -

Michigan State University has issued a campus crime alert after a reported sex assault.

According to the alert, a 20-year-old student reported that she was walking to the Chemistry Building with a male that she had met while sitting outside Wells Hall.

The two were in the stairwell of the Chemistry Building on Sept. 25 between 3p.m. and 4p.m. when the sexual assault happened. 

The victim claims that when another person entered the stairwell the man ran up the stairs in an unknown direction.

The student was not injured during the assault and described the man as Indian, with a slight accent and wearing a button-up shirt. 

She was unable to give any other information.

Michigan State University Police ask that anyone with information about this incident to please call 517-355-2222.
