A Monroe Public Schools bus driver and five elementary students were hurt Thursday morning when their bus was involved in a crash.

In a statement, the district said the No. 14 bus and a car collided just before 8:30 a.m. on St. Anne Drive east of Ave de Lafayette in the Frenchmen’s Bend subdivision.

The bus was carrying Manor Elementary School students.

The five students who suffered minor injuries were taken to Mercy-Memorial Hospital. Twenty-one other children on the bus were not hurt but were reunited with their parents at the school.
