MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

An Ingham County man has told a judge that he killed his father and he wants "justice."

The Lansing State Journal reports that 50-year-old Greg Basolo on Wednesday waived his right to a preliminary examination in the shooting death of 79-year-old former state police captain Peter Basolo.

Greg Basolo told 55th District Court Judge Tom Boyd that he was "guilty of this crime."

Peter Basolo was slain Oct. 25 at the condo he shared with his son in Meridian Township, near Lansing.

Court documents show he told police he was angry because his father re-established contact with family members who Greg Basolo claimed sexually assaulted him in the past.

Basolo's arraignment on a murder charge is scheduled Feb. 26 in Ingham County Circuit Court.
