Michigan State Trooper OK after being hit in patrol car on Detroit's west side

Police say driver who caused crash had suspended license

DETROIT – A Michigan State Trooper is recovering after being hit in his patrol car Wednesday morning in Detroit.

Police said the trooper was responding to a separate incident on the entrance ramp from Outer Drive to eastbound Interstate 96, when he was hit.

He was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but later released.

Police said the driver who caused the crash had a suspended license and was arrested on outstanding warrants.
