Michigan state trooper hurt in crash on I-696

WARREN, Mich. -

A Michigan State Police trooper is recovering after being involved in a crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 696.

In a statement, the department said the trooper was one of three cars involved in a “chain reaction” crash in the westbound lanes near Groesbeck Highway.

The trooper was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

Police haven’t released the trooper’s name or what caused the crash.
