DETROIT -

The Michigan Humane Society is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for allegedly attacking a black Labrador mix with a machete on Saturday in the 7300 block of St. Mary’s.

MHS learned of the ordeal on Monday when a concerned neighbor called them.

MHS responded to the scene and rushed the dog to its Detroit Center for Animal Care, where he is being treated for multiple wounds. MHS is hopeful that the dog will make a full recovery.

Having exhausted its initial leads, MHS is asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed this vicious act to contact the Michigan Humane Society Cruelty Hotline at (313) 872-3401.
