Metro Detroit roads flood due to heavy rain, trash, and sewage

Residents in Detroit got caught in high water Thursday morning because of heavy rain and clogged sewers and drains in the area of Central Street near Dix.

Detroit Water and Sewerage worked through the morning to clear the drains and get the street open again.

Detroit wasn't the only city with rain problems this morning, though.

Rising water has been causing trouble on the roads all morning including on I-94 East and West at Livernois when they were met with high water in both directions.

No street lights and high speeds also nearly caused several accidents.

From SKY 4, a broken manhole is visible, which is causing a large back-up on west bound I-94 at Rotunda.

Wet roads may also have led to an accident where a car overturned on east bound I-94 at Connor.
