Marcus Belgrave reunited with stolen custom-made trumpet

It's been a long few days for jazz trumpet player Marcus Belgrave and his wife Joan without his trumpet.
"I have another horn at home," he said. "But it's not this one. I had this one made for me."
The trumpet was stolen out of the couple's car trunk parked near Eastern Market early Saturday morning.
"Oh my God I didn't believe it," said Joan. "I opened the trunk and I closed it back again."
The custom-made trumpet is valued at about $2,500, but it's worth much more than that to this music legend who often performs around town at jazz clubs.
"This horn is like me," Marcus said. "It's an extension of me."
Police got a call Monday from a Detroit pawn show about a trumpet that matched the description of the missing one. Marcus was reunited with his instrument Wednesday afternoon at Detroit Police Headquarters.
Police say the man suspected in this trumpet theft is being held on unrelated charges.
Belgrave's next show is March 26 at the Dirty Dog in Grosse Pointe Farms.
