Man with hammer robs Waterford gas station clerk

WATERFORD, Mich. -

An armed robbery took place at the Speedway Gas Station on Thursday at 4960 Dixie Highway.

The clerk at the station told police that a man came into the business armed with a claw hammer and demanded money from the cash register.

The clerk complied with the robber's demands after he slammed the hammer onto the counter. Afterwards, the suspect fled north on Dixie Highway on foot.

The suspect is described as a white man, tall with a thin build, early 30s wearing a white shirt and sunglasses.
