Man barricades self inside Clawson home; Shots fired at officers

An overnight standoff between a man and police in Clawson ends with a death.

CLAWSON, Mich. -

A man barricaded himself inside a Clawson home after shots had been fired between him and police.

The incident happened Tuesday night at a home near Livernois Road and Phillips Avenue.

Clawson police said the incident began as a domestic situation.

The man, his wife and two young children were inside the house. After police arrived, authorities said there was an exchange of gunfire between police officers and the husband.

The wife and children ran out of the back door and were reported safe.

The man was found dead inside the home early Wednesday morning.
