Man arrested in multiple home invasions in Dearborn

Rashaad Taylor arrested on 2 counts of home invasion

DEARBORN, Mich. – Rashaad Taylor, 21, was arrested and charged with multiple home invasions 1st degree, two counts of home invasion 2nd degree, felony larceny of a firearm and felony firearm in Dearborn.

On March 3rd, officers from Dearborn Police Department responded to an invasion on the 1600 block of Linden Street. The homeowner told officers that her house was secured when she left in the morning but when she returned to her home a few hours later she found her rear door had been forced open. The homeowner's flat screen television, computer tablet and a few pieces of costume jewelry were missing.

On March 7, two additional home invasions were reported in the same neighborhood on Snow Street. The homeowners in those incidents reported jewelry, a computer and a handgun were taken during the incidents.

The Dearborn Police Special Operations Unit began surveillance on the suspect. Detectives were able to link the suspect to some of the stolen items. Taylor was observed with a computer matching the description and later confirmed to be the one taken from Snow Street.

Taylor was stopped and offiicers recovered the handgun and computer that was taken.

Taylor was arraigned on March 8 and his preliminary hearing exam is scheduled for March 21. He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.
