Lower gas prices expected in 2014

What can you expect from gas prices in the New Year? Slightly lower prices.

Gas prices have been sliding to end 2013, and that trend is expected to continue into the new year.

AAA said the average price nationwide over the year was about $3.49 a gallon.  That's down from 2012 and 2011.

Experts predict it will drop to an average of $3.43 a gallon in 2014. 

In Michigan, gas prices averaged 3.59 a gallon in 2013. 

Right now, the average price in Michigan in 3.31 a gallon.

AAA said gas prices are expected to drop in 2014 due to increased regional refinery capacity.
