Local 4's Rod Meloni among celebrities to play in charity wheelchair basketball game

A special event is being held Tuesday at Oakland University to benefit the DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan.

Local 4's Rod Meloni is among the celebrities who will be playing in a charity wheelchair basketball game on Tuesday on the campus of Oakland University.

All proceeds from the Celebrity Wheelchair Basketball Game benefit RIM's SportsAbility program, which provides persons with disabilities the opportunity to compete in competitive and recreational sports.

It will be the fourth year Rod has participated.

The game features sports celebrities and radio and television personalities, who compete in wheelchairs along with RIM's award-winning wheelchair basketball team, the Detroit Diehards.

The pre-game, features RIM's doctors, nurses and therapists challenging Oakland University's Athletic Department to a wheelchair basketball.


Tuesday, Sept. 24

5:30 p.m. Pre-Game (RIM vs. Oakland University)

7 p.m. Celebrity Basketball Game

Admission is FREE

Oakland University's O'rena is located at 49 Oakland Center, Rochester, MI.
