Kwame Kilpatrick remains in federal prison, but he's still trying to get his federal RICO conviction overturned through an appeal.
Kilpatrick's lawyers had asked for more time to file motions relating to the appeal. Their request was granted by the U.S. Sixth Circuit of Appeals.
