Waking up to find yourself in the middle of a shootout -- that's what some neighbors in Inkster went through Tuesday morning.

INKSTER, Mich. -

The Inkster Police Department is investigating three people shot in two different shootings early Tuesday morning.

Sources tell Local 4, police were called shortly before 1:30 a.m. to the area of Hopkins and Bayham on a person that was shot while in his car.  He is said to be in good condition.

Then just after 3 a.m. police started to get several phone calls about multiple shots being fired in the area of Oakwood and Clair.  Two people claiming to have been shot at this location drove themselves to an area hospital for treatment.

Local 4 has been told that at least one of the victims at Oakwood and Clair is in critical condition.

Inkster Police Chief Hilton Napoleon tells Local 4 that the shooters were absolutely reckless.  Anyone that may have been in area could have been hit by stray bullets.

Several cars and homes were hit by gunfire.

Local 4 has a crew on the scene gathering more information.
