Group accused of breaking into businesses on Detroit's east side

DETROIT – Detroit police are looking for people they say could be responsible for a handful of break-ins at businesses on the city's east side.

During the early morning hours of Dec. 9, police said a gym on 8 Mile Road and three other businesses along Gratiot Avenue near 8 Mile Road were broken into by four people who used a crowbar or sledge hammer to pry open back doors.

Police have released photos from cameras that captured the group inside a women's gym at 15650 East 8 Mile. Three out of the four people are wearing masks over their faces.

Police haven't said what was taken during the break-ins.

Anyone with information on the break-ins or the people who are in the photographs is asked to call Detroit police at 3313-596-5940 or Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAKUP.
