State Senate passes Detroit bankruptcy package

The Michigan Senate has passed a package of bills previously approved by the state House to protect city employee pensions and the Detroit Institute of Arts as Detroit completes its bankruptcy reorganization.

Gov. Rick Snyder, who supported the so-called "grand bargain" legislative package, is expected to discuss the Senate's vote and what's next during a news conference at 5:15 Tuesday evening.
