WARREN, Mich. – Warren police say the GM Tech Center on Van Dyke Avenue is being aired out after an ammonia vapor leak.
Deputy Commissioner Louis Galasso said the leak was detected around 4 a.m. Friday in a wind tunnel facility.

The area was cleared, however, GM said there were no workers in the plant because it's a holiday – Good Friday.
Galasso said the facility has a ventilation system that is operating to clear the air. He also said the vapor can be safely released into the atmosphere and poses no risk to the environment or humans. However, the facility will continue to be shut off to employees until the source of the leak can be identified and stopped.
