Getting better customer service now easier

In the past, Ruth to the Rescue has reported that yelling and cursing at customer service representatives almost never makes the situation better.

How many times have you called your bank, cable company, or other service provider and hung up the phone feeling frustrated or unhappy with the customer service experience?

CEB, a business consulting firm, found if you tell the customer service representative that you are a "dissatisfied customer" or that you would not recommend the company to your family or friends, the customer service rep may try a little harder to make you happy.

CEB says to be a team player, tell the agent you want to reach a solution that's best for everyone. Make the customer service rep feel that you can both win if you get what you want. Try to relate to the rep, ask them what they would do if they were in your situation.
