DETROIT – The tanker that caught fire on the I-75 interchange at I-375 was hauling 9,000 gallons of unleaded fuel and not all of it burned up.
The fuel could be seen burning from miles away, but some escaped into the sewer system.

According to the Detroit Water and Sewage Department, the incident has not caused a hazard to drinking water and no infrastructure was damaged.
Detroit's Wastewater Treatment Plant is equipped to handle all hazards. They will separate gas and treat it so that none of it enters back into the environment.
