DETROIT -

Drivers in Detroit are urged to avoid Trumbull Avenue near I-94 because of flooding.

The trouble spot is just north of the freeway, where Trumbull runs under a set of railroad tracks. At least one car and one van were trapped in the flood waters. The van stopped just before the under-pass and the water was up to the vehicle's windows. The drivers of both vehicles left them there.

Police said drivers should never try to pass through flood waters, especially if it is unclear how deep the water might be.
