DETROIT -

Detroit firefighters tried to save a family's home Tuesday night on Pacific Street at Firwood Street.

A family of 10 was living in the home but they were forced out by the towering flames. They rushed to save personal items from the blaze.

They said they heard glass breaking, looked out the window and saw the inferno. Everyone made it out OK.

Firefighters had to battle the wintry weather as they fought to keep the flames from spreading to nearby homes.
