ALLEN PARK, Mich. -

An Allen Park company that got a $50 million loan from the federal government to build vans for the disabled has shut down.

Vehicle Production Group stopped operating in February after their balance sheet dipped below a minimum level required by the government.

The company got the money in 2010 as part of a clean-energy program.
