DETROIT – A father and son had to jump from a second story window to escape a fire early Friday morning in Detroit.
The father , who is in his 30's, and his 9-year-old son pushed out a window air conditioning unit and then jumped to safety. Both were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
Local 4 has also learned that the fire hydrant in the front yard of the home was also out of service. Firefighters had to connect to a hydrant nearly a block away.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation
