Westview Orchards in Washington Township turns 200, family-run for six generations

WASHINGTON TWP, Mich. -

A Macomb County farm celebrated a very special anniversary Saturday.

Westview Orchards in Washington Township turns 200-years-old this year.

The 188 acre farm is the oldest in Macomb County, and it has been family run for six generations. Families from all over Metro Detroit visited the farm on Saturday for the free event featuring fun and educational activities.

Governor Rick Snyder even paid a visit as well, and says he is proud of what this farm does for the community.

The birthday celebration may be over, but the farm is open all summer long. That includes the market, schoolhouse ice cream shop and cider barn.
