ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. -

A 79-year-old woman was killed Saturday night when she was struck by two vehicles on Auburn Road near Longview Road in Rochester Hills.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says the woman was in the roadway when a sport utility vehicle first struck her in the westbound lane. She was struck again by another sport utility vehicle in the eastbound lane.

Rochester Hills fire and EMS found the woman lying dead in the roadway. It's not clear why she was in the road to begin with. The accident is under investigation.

Both drivers of the vehicles which struck the woman stopped. Neither was injured.

The Sheriff's Office says alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this accident.
