Eastpointe begins checking up on dog owners

EASTPOINTE – The city of Eastpointe has begun going door-to-door to enforce its dog license ordinance.

If you have recently moved into the city, you have 30 days to obtain a license for your dog. City Ordinance Chapter 8, Section 8-9 requires you to apply for a license on or before March 1.

All dogs have to be up to date on vaccines and must wear a collar with the license securely attached.

Eastpointe has a limit of two dogs per household, but if you have more, you can apply for a kennel permit at City Hall.
