Police said Gullion drove by a home on 29 Mile Road in Ray Township on April 16 and fired five shots from a handgun, which hit the front of the home.

Police said Gullion's wife was a caretaker for a person with a medical condition in the home, and Gullion allegedly fired the shots because of alleged comments made about his wife by someone in the home. No one in the home was hurt.

Gullion was on a leave-of-absence from the department at the time of the shooting and later suspended during an internal affairs investigation. Detroit Police Chief James Craig said the officer had been on medical leave and that he has been on Detroit's force since 2009.
