An Amber Alert has been canceled for a 3-year-old Detroit girl.
The alert had been issued Sunday night for Alonna Anderson -- who police said had been taken earlier in the day from a home in the area of Northfield Avenue and I-96 by someone while her mother was being assaulted by Anderson's father.
The girl's father, 29-year-old Stacey Anderson, allegedly dropped her off at about 7 a.m. Monday to a relative in the area of Grand River and Lahser, but then took off.
Police said they are still looking for him and another person.
Stacey Anderson's mother, who didn't want to be shown on camera, said the girl was never in any danger.
"My son would not hurt her. My son loves that little girl," the mother said.
Anderson is described at 5 feet 9 inches tall, 165 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He has a tattoo of a pit bull on his left arm.
He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt with a white T-shirt underneath and stone washed gray jean shorts with gray Timberland boots.
