DETROIT – Two suspects have been arrested in connection to two separate recent shootings in Detroit's Greektown, Detroit police said.
On June 20, an 18-year-old girl was shot in the leg in front of a Greektown restaurant. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police arrested a suspect in this shooting on Monday.

On June 21, two 19-year-old men were shot near Monroe and Beaubien in Greektown. One of them was found dead at the scene. The other was shot in his stomach and survived. Police traced the suspected shooter to Westland where he was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.
"We appreciate the community stepping up and helping our investigators identify these shooters," said Detroit Police Chief James Craig in a news release. "The collaboration we see between business owners who have installed video cameras, the community at large who calls with tips, along with the hard work of police investigators, help bring these criminals to justice. It doesn't matter what neighborhood a crime occurs in, when our partners all step up, we all benefit with a city that is safer for everyone."
Both suspects are expected to be arraigned later this week.
