Detroit officer Rodney Jones to be laid to rest Monday

Detroit Police Chief James Craig is making it clear that he is bringing big changes to the department.

DETROIT -

Greater Grace Temple will serve as the location for the funeral service of Detroit police officer Rodney Jones. 

The 28-year veteran of the department worked with the traffic enforcement unit.

He was competing in the "Bikes on Bricks" event last Saturday in Flint when he collapsed and was rushed to a hospital.

Officer Jones died of an undisclosed medical condition.

A public viewing for Jones was held at Swanson Funeral Home Saturday and Sunday.

His funeral will begin at noon on Monday.
