DETROIT – A 44-year-old Detroit man was killed Friday night when an unknown type of firework struck him in the chest and exploded.
The man lit a firework in the 6000 block of Plainview Avenue on the city's west side.
The firework was supposed to fly in the air, but instead flew right at him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
