DETROIT, Mich. -

The Detroit Fire Department is investigating a deadly fire on Mandale St. in Southwest Detroit.

Local 4 has learned that a male in his 50s has passed away as a result of his injuries sustained during the fire.

Officials tell Local 4 that the fire broke out in the 9100 block of Mandale St. in the area of Vernor and Woodmere streets.

Fire investigators are on the scene and it is currently unknown what cause the fire.
