DETROIT – The final two members of the Kilpatrick Enterprise, former Detroit Water and Sewerage Department boss Victor Mercado and Kwame Kilpatrick's longtime aide Derrick Miller, will be sentenced for their role in the former mayor's racketeering crimes in May.

Mercado will be sentenced on May 8, 2014 and Miller will be sentenced on May 19, 2014. Both hearings will take place before U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds.

Miller pleaded guilty to corruption and tax evasion in September, 2011. His plea agreement limits his sentence to no more than ten years in prison.

Mercado pleaded guilty to conspiracy in November, 2012. The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, but under the terms of his plea deal Mercado will likely serve no more than 18 months.

Both men admitted helping former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick rig lucrative public contract bids, largely for the benefit of Kilpatrick's friend Bobby Ferguson.

Kilpatrick, who resigned from office in 2008 after pleading guilty to perjury, was convicted of numerous federal felonies and sentenced to 28 years in prison in 2013.
