Dave and Chuck The Freak to host .5K in Wyandotte

Registration will benefit Toys For Tots

DETROIT – They'll say just about anything and do just about anything, but what Dave and Chuck the Freak from 101.1 WRIF are about to do this weekend is something even they never thought they'd do: Run a race.

"I've been to our gym here at the station once to train," said Chuck The Freak. "I'm ready."

Dave Hunter, Chuck and Lisa Way have run the morning show on WRIF for over a year. Their fans can be described one way: Loyal. And this radio show knows it.

"We consider ourselves like the guys next door," Hunter said. "We want to hang with our listeners and have a beer and support a good cause while we're at it."

That's where .5K was born. You read that right, .5K (or brisk walk as they like to call it).
