Police said a 19-year-old was babysitting a relative's baby, who is under 1 year old, when her cousin, who lives nearby, walked into the home and then walked out.

Police said the 19-year-old and her boyfriend noticed the baby missing and went to the cousin's home.

The baby could be heard crying inside the home, and the boyfriend forced his way in, police said.

The cousin, a 29-year-old woman, had the baby out a window, police said.

Police said the boyfriend was able to grab the baby, but the cousin jumped out the window. She was taken to McLaren Macomb Hospital to be treated for injuries from the fall.

The baby was reunited with its mother.

The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on charges of child abuse, kidnapping and attempted murder.
