Border agents find 22 pounds of suspected marijuana at Ambassador Bridge

DETROIT – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Ambassador Bridge found 22 pounds of suspected marijuana hidden in a vehicle last week.

In a statement, CBP said the driver, a 43-year-old Canadian woman, was traveling with her adult daughter Thursday when the suspected drugs were found during a secondary search.

"CBP officers rely on their training and instincts to detect suspicious activity," said Rod Blanchard, Detroit Port Director.  "I commend the CBP officers involved in stopping this shipment of drugs from reaching our streets."

The driver and passenger were both turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement HSI special agents for further investigation.
