The Detroit Police Bomb Squad was called out Wednesday morning to investigate a suspicious package on Warren Ave. near the Southfield Freeway.

Police had Warren closed in both directions beginning at the Southfield Freeway and to the east several blocks.  Michigan State Police also blocked the exit ramp from northbound M-39 to Warren Ave.

After investigating the package was determined to be an empty suitcase that was left on the side of the street.

All of the emergency crews were clearing the scene shortly after 4 a.m.
