The Franklin-Bingham Farms Police Department is investigating a murder that happened Tuesday in the 26000 block of Charles Lane in Franklin.

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. -

Birmingham Public Schools will hold a news conference at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday to address how one of the district's staff members is related to the ongoing police investigation of a murder in Franklin.

Police were involved in a barricaded situation at a home on Sprague Avenue in Royal Oak. That ended Tuesday afternoon when the suspect was found dead inside the home. He had a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Royal Oak police said.

That situation is related to what police have called a possible murder-suicide earlier in the day at a Franklin home.

Birmingham schools will explain how a staff member was involved in all of this.
