DEARBORN, Mich. – His name is Fady Soueidan.
The 43-year-old Dearborn man works as the assistant principal at the new McCollough-Unis School -- a combined elementary and middle school on the city's northeast side. Soueidan was responsible for watching over 1,100 students.
Now he's on administrative leave while his job is a distant concern, based on his legal troubles.
It started 10 days ago at an apartment complex in Westland. Police say Soueidan had an altercation with a woman he allegedly had a relationship with, along with her roommate.
Police say he broke into the apartment and when his girlfriend grabbed the phone to dial 911 he slammed the phone down. When police sorted it all out, Soueidan was arrested and charged with first degree home invasion -- a 15-year felony -- and interfering with a crime report -- a 1-year misdemeanor.
Then this past Saturday, Dearborn police say, Soueidan broke into a house on Hampshire Court -- his own house. He allegedly hit his wife and grabbed a cellphone from her in yet another heated argument.
His wife had a personal protection order against him and he was under order not to go in the house. In this case, Soueidan is charged with first degree felony home invasion. Dearborn police say he could get 20 years in prison if convicted.
Soueidan also is charged with stalking -- which means the possibility of 5 years in jail -- larceny in a building and domestic violence.
He is being held at the Wayne County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
