Detroit's Downtown Development Authority has planned a special meeting Friday afternoon to discuss a new hockey arena for the city.

A decision regarding a new hockey arena for Detroit could come Friday afternoon. The Downtown Development Authority has called a special meeting Friday afternoon.

The proposed 18,000-seat arena would be built along Woodward Avenue near Comerica Park in what is currently an empty lot.
