Adams said Michael Montgomery became aggressive when she told him he wouldn't be allowed in the ambulance with the woman.

"He started swearing at us," Adams said.

Adams said Montgomery first punched Rojas.

"They started tussling in the street," Adams said.

When she saw Montgomery pull out the box cutter, Adams said she went to grab a step stool.

"By the time I turned around, he had already stabbed Rojas in the hand," Adams said. "I could see him bleeding."

Adams said Montgomery and Rojas took turns swinging at each other.

"Blood was going everywhere," Adams said.

She said she hit Montgomery with the step stool on his shoulder and neck areas.

"It didn't faze him," Adams said.

At some point, Adams said Montgomery began cutting her.

Adams said she continue to hit Montgomery until she and her partner were able to get back into ambulance.

They drove themselves to the hospital.

As a result of her injuries, Adams said she has paralysis on the left side of her face.
