TROY, Mich. -

A Michigan dog considered to be the world's tallest canine is making an appearance in the Detroit area.

Zeus, a Great Dane from Otsego, near Kalamazoo, is appearing Sunday at a pet adoption event at a Petco store in Troy at 1 p.m. And, no, he's not up for adoption but many other pets hope to find a home.

The Guinness World Records 2013 book says Zeus is the world's tallest dog. He stands 7-foot-4 while on his hind legs. Zeus is just an inch taller than the previous tallest dog, Giant George.
