Woman hit by car, killed in Troy parking lot

TROY, Mich. -

A woman in Troy was struck by a car and carried several feet before dying, police say.

According to police, the 52-year old mother was leaving the Atlas Market and Bakery on Dequindre Road near Big Beaver..

That's when a 68-year-old driver reversed in the parking lot and hit the woman and dragged her 40 feet. Police say the elderly driver says she didn't see her.

The incident is being considered an accident.
