Chester Logan asked to take over while Detroit police chief Ralph Godee serves suspension amid alleged sex scandal

DETROIT – Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee has been suspended over a sex scandal.

A man within the department has been asked to step in. So, just who is Chester Logan?

Logan has been working for the Detroit Police Department for more than 30 years and before Godbee's suspension he served as commanding officer of the 7th Precinct.

A Detroit native, Logan attended Detroit Public Schools and received a bachelor's degree from Madonna University and a master's degree from Eastern Michigan University. He also served in the armed forces in Vietnam during 1968.

Logan also is a member of two labor unions.

He currently lives on the Detroit's east side with his wife and four children.
