The Jewish Community Center was evacuated after suspicious packages were found Tuesday at the center near Maple and Drake roads in West Bloomfield.

West Bloomfield police said two suspicious packages were found in bushes near the valet.

The evacuation was done as a precaution while police investigated the packages.

Police found the packages were two empty brief cases. People were allowed to reenter the center about 5 p.m.
