The Oakland County Medical Examiner's office says the man died at Huron Valley Hospital.

McAvoy's son told Local -4 his dad was in great shape. He said his father worked out, and worked 60 hours a week.

McAvoy had shoveled his girlfriend's driveway then set out to clear his own, before he collapsed on Quail Ridge Court

His 12-year-old daughter was home at the time it happened as school was canceled.

According to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, shoveling heavy snow for just 10 minutes is the same as running on a treadmill until exhausted.
