WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

The parks and recreation department in Waterford Township is scheduled to close in a few weeks.

The decision comes after the millage to support the department failed. As a result, the department will close from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1, 2013, but the building will remain closed indefinitely.

On Jan. 2 the department will reopen on the third  floor of the Town Hall building.

In the meantime, classes will continue at the Williams Lake location.
