Washtenaw County car crash leaves 2 kids, 1 man in critically conditions after driver slams into tree

Six unidentified people, four of them children were in the car that slammed into a tree in Pittsfield Township.

PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

Two children from Canton and a man from Ypsilanti Township have been critically injured after their car slammed into two trees on a rural road in Washtenaw County.

Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety officials say in a release that excessive speed is being investigated as a possible cause of the 6:32 p.m. Sunday crash.

Six unidentified people, four of them children were in the car when the 23-year-old man driving went off the road and hit two trees. The car landed in a ditch.

All six were taken to area hospitals and one of the children was transported to the hospital by Life Flight.

The driver, an 11-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy were listed in critical condition Sunday night.

Police say their condition was not immediately known Monday.

No further details were released.
