Roseville police said the two used money that was supposed to go into a special escrow account for later use by customers. They said the couple used the money to buy luxury cars, televisions and other electronics.

Police said it is suspected that the couple used money that was allocated for between 100 and 200 funerals.

Millie Williams said she lost $900 after pre-paying for her funeral. Williams said, "It is despicable. We may never see that money again."

Sources said the couple had been taking money from clients for almost a decade and had managed to spend more than $500,000.

The Buehlers are charged with 32 criminal counts.

The couple will return to court in May.
